Claiming ChatGPT Pro

Where and when to claim, the card at checkout, API credits and signing Codex in.

Where do I claim ChatGPT Pro?

On the Build Sprint dashboard, in the side tab. It is not emailed to you and nobody will DM it to you.

Is there a deadline to claim ChatGPT Pro?

Yes, and it falls during the sprint. Claim in the first couple of days: the error-and-retry loop in When the ChatGPT Pro claim will not go through can eat a day on its own.

Claiming doesn’t stop you deferring, but a deferred seat does not get ChatGPT Pro in the next sprint.

My ChatGPT Pro claim is stuck. Does that block my build?

No. A claim problem never blocks your build. Codex runs on any paid ChatGPT plan. For Claude Code, use a Max plan. You can use either, or both.

Start building and sort the claim out in parallel. Every hour spent waiting on a promo code is an hour not spent shipping.

The ChatGPT checkout is ₹0. Why is it asking for my card?

Because the free month auto-renews at full price when it ends. The card is for that renewal. Set a calendar reminder to cancel before the month is up if you do not want it to charge.

My card keeps getting rejected when I claim ChatGPT Pro.

That is between your card and OpenAI, and it is usually bank-side verification rather than the promo. Try it in this order: another card, then your bank’s international or online-payments toggle, then OpenAI support. GrowthX cannot clear payment failures.

Do I get OpenAI API credits too?

No. The grant is the ChatGPT plan. A ChatGPT subscription and API platform credits are separate wallets — paying for one never fills the other.

I claimed on a different email. Why is Codex still on my old plan?

Codex stays signed in to whichever account you set it up with. Sign out, then run codex login in a fresh terminal and sign in with the same email that holds the claimed plan. Otherwise your terminal keeps drawing on the old subscription.

Can you move the ChatGPT Pro claim to my main account?

No — those are OpenAI’s rules, not ours to override. The claim link itself is not tied to a specific email. Whichever eligible account redeems it, holds it.

Patience—you’re about to be impressed.
